SOUTH BEND — A man robbed the Mutual Bank at 742 E. Ireland Road in South Bend shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday.

A man entered the bank and showed the teller a note demanding money, police said. No weapon was shown during the robbery.

Police say a witness positively identified Andrew Dwane Patterson Jr. He is a 33-years-old black male who is 5'10” and weighs 200 pounds.

Patterson is a suspect in several recent robberies in the area, say police. He was seen leaving the Mutual Bank in a yellow or cream color vehicle that was possibly a 1980’s Oldsmobile.

Police say Patterson is out on bond for six counts of robbery and two counts of auto theft. He committed some of those crimes while armed, say police.

Anyone with information on Patterson's whereabouts should call 911 and should not approach or attempt to apprehend him, warn police.
