KOSCIUSKO COUNTY — A Bourbon woman died Thursday after she drove into the path of a semi-truck on U.S. 30 in western Kosciusko County, police said.

According to Kosciusko County police, Susan M. Smith, 35, was attempting to cross U.S. 30 at County Road 800 West about 6:59 p.m. when she was struck by an eastbound semi-truck.

Smith was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, where she later died from internal head and neck injuries, police said.

The accident remains under investigation.
