South Bend police now have a bank robbery suspect in custody.

Andrew Patterson, 33, is suspected for the Wednesday robbery of the Mutual Bank on Ireland Road.

Around 1:30 a.m. Friday morning, South Bend and St. Joseph County police arrested Patterson at a motel on U.S. 20, just west of the city. Police say they were led to Patterson through a Crime Stoppers tip.

Police say a 44-year-old female was also arrested on a charge unrelated to that of Patterson.

Right now Patterson is at the St. Joseph County Jail, booked on a preliminary charge of robbery.
