'Miami Dream Team' scam hitting Kosciusko County

College-age students, usually females, are doing door-to-door magazine sales in Kosciusko County, using the company name “Miami Dream Team” from Kittredge, Colo.

The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department warns area residents “Miami Dream Team” is a scam and those duped by the sales have little hope of getting their money back.

Detective John Hart said via a news release, while several scams are inundating the area given the weak economy, the “Dream Team” is the latest ruse.

He advises residents to check out businesses before doing business, through several Web sites, including the Federal Trade Commission, IC3/Internet Crime Complaint Center, Better Business Bureau and Rip-Off Report at www.ripoffreport.com.
