Of the five Kosciusko County teens injured in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday night, one 18-year-old is listed in critical condition.

Eric Salyer of Claypool, is in critical condition as of Friday morning at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne. A passenger in his car, Christopher Sexton, 15, of Burkett, is in serious condition, according to a nursing supervisor.

Of the three others injured in the accident at County Road 600 West at County Road 500 South, one teen was transferred to another hospital.

Colt Johnson, 16, of Mentone was initially taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. He was later transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, where he’s in stable condition Friday morning, according to a nursing supervisor.

Nicholas Trier, 17 of Warsaw, was also taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. As of Friday morning, the nursing supervisor had no information on his condition.

The other driver, Bruce Tillman Jr., 18, of Claypool, refused medical treatment for minor bleeding at the scene.

Police said Salyer failed to stop at a stop sign and his car collided with Tillman’s vehicle.

The Kosciusko County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating the crash, a standard procedure in all serious accidents.
