A 35-year-old Berrien County man was arrested Friday morning after police found 156 marijuana plants and growing equipment in a house in the 4000 block of Snow Road.

The house search was the result of a two-week investigation by the Berrien County Sheriff Department’s Narcotic Unit and Baroda-Lake Township Police.

A 2002 Dodge Durango and utility trailer were also seized as permitted by Michigan’s civil forfeiture law.

Preliminary charges against the man, all for second offenses, are manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver and maintaining a drug house, according to a Berrien County Sheriff’s Department news release.

Police found marijuana being grown in the house and in the yard. Police noted according to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency, one mature plant is capable of producing approximately $1,000 worth of marijuana.
