Goshen man pinned under car after crashing fence, posts

A Goshen man escaped serious injury early Sunday morning after his car crashed and rolled.

The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department reports Brian Meade, 37, was treated at and released from Goshen General Hospital after he lost control of his westbound car on Ind. 4, east of County Road 29, east of Goshen, at 12:10 a.m.

His car slid sideways across both lanes, struck a barbed wire fence and several posts before it overturned, trapping Meade underneath the car.

Police said Meade tested nearly three times the legal alcohol limit. He was arrested after being released from the hospital on preliminary a felony DUI charge and a misdemeanor charge of driving with a suspended license.
