SOUTH BEND — A South Bend woman whose death was being investigated as possible H1N1-related has tested negative for the virus.

The 23-year-old woman was admitted to St. Joseph Regional Medical Center on Saturday complaining of flu-like symptoms, St. Joseph County deputy coroner Chuck Hurley said Monday. The woman died Sunday.

An autopsy completed Monday included an Influenza A and B test, Hurley said, both of which she tested negative for. Her death was believed to be related to the pregnancy, he said.

The woman’s baby was delivered by Cesarean section and survived.
