Police say a Gobles, Mich., man traveling too fast through Bangor Township was airlifted to the hospital following a serious crash Saturday night.

The accident happened about 8:45 p.m. in the 38900 block of 62nd Street after 49-year-old Frankie Bailey rolled his vehicle while unable to negotiate a curve at 39th Avenue.

Emergency crews found the Ford Taurus he was driving on its top, and extricated Bailey through a broken-out back window.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department said Bailey was flown to a Kalamazoo hospital for treatment.

No information about his condition was available Sunday afternoon, but police say injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.

The accident remains under investigation.
