Police are searching for a Michigan man who faces attempted murder charges after firing a handgun in the Red Arrow Bar in Lawrence early Sunday.

The 32-year-old man from the Covert area was reportedly harassing female customers about 1 a.m. when he pulled a handgun on one of them who was trying to calm him down.

The gun discharged into the bar’s ceiling during a struggle, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department.

There were no injuries reported.

Police say the man, whose identity is being withheld pending a warrant, fled the scene before officers arrived.

Anyone with information may call the Sheriff’s Department at (269) 657-3101.
