UPDATE: One injured in Elkhart County stabbing

Police are investigating circumstances surrounding a stabbing early Sunday morning in Elkhart County.

Just after 12:30 a.m., police were called to Country Meadows Mobile Home Park on County Road 29, according to police.

The stabbing victim, Michael Vliet of Topeka, is in his mid-20s. Police say he and three other men fought during a party at the residence.

Vliet suffered wounds to his front and back, and was airlifted to Fort Wayne Lutheran Hospital where he was in stable condition as he was being prepared for surgery on Sunday morning. Police say no one else was injured in the fight.

Evidence of the stabbing was found outside the home, according to police. They are waiting to take statements from everyone involved. No arrests have been made yet.

The mobile home park has a Syracuse address, but is in Elkhart County.
