UPDATE: Power restored after Mishawaka accident

A car jumped a curb early Friday morning on University Drive, knocking out electric to the Main Street/University Drive area in Mishawaka.

A single-vehicle accident early Friday morning knocked out electricity to the area surrounding University Drive and Main Street in Mishawaka. Power was restored to the area by 4:30 a.m., according to Mishawaka Police.

Just after 12:30 a.m., a car jumped a curb and struck a utility box in the 400 block of West University Drive, causing the outage. Officials could not confirm when power would be restored.

There was no immediate information from police in anyone was injured in the accident.
