Two forums for residents of the Town of Osceola will focus on the possibility of bringing water and sewer service to the town.

When:

  • 5 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2
  • 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9

Where: Osceola Town Hall, 850 Lincoln Way West (corner of Beech Road and Ind. 933)

The forums will reveal results of a recent sewer and water systems study conducted by DLZ Indiana and have time for questions/answers.

Town residents and businesses have wells and septic systems, with the exception of several new subdivisions on the west end of town. Those residential areas have water and sewer service from the City of Mishawaka.

The issue of bringing water and sewer service to the town has been discussed and studied several times over the years, but has been viewed as cost prohibitive.

In 2008, a community survey revealed residents and town officials wanted to see more businesses, but lack of municipal utilities hampered the ability to attract commerce.
