An 18-year-old woman fled from her home early Saturday after her brother beat her and threatened to kill her, police said.

Police found the woman in her nightgown several houses away, bleeding from the face with wounds on her arms and legs.

She told police her 17-year-old brother came into her bedroom around 2:15 a.m. and began kicking and punching her, saying, “I will kill you.”

The woman ran into another room, locking the door behind her. When her brother began kicking the door down, she escaped through a window and ran to a neighbor’s to call police, she said.

Police found the suspect in the family’s kitchen. The mother told police he “didn’t do anything,” police said.

The brother was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center, and the mother, who was interfering, was arrested and put in jail.
