MISHAWAKA — Three South Bend men have been charged after allegedly breaking into a Mishawaka apartment and firing a gun at the occupants.

Patrick Dewayne Carr Jr., 19; Dorian L. Harris Jr., 19; and Martell Washington, 20, were charged Monday with one count of robbery and one count burglary, both Class B felonies. No charges were filed against them for firing the gun.

The defendants reportedly entered a North Main Street home Oct. 28 and started shooting at the homeowner, according to charging documents. The homeowner did not know the men, but was a friend of the former girlfriend of one of the accused.

Three people were in the home at the time of the shooting, according to documents, but none was hit or seriously injured in the shooting.

Police were called and later found the suspects in an apartment, also finding a set of keys belonging to the victim.

The three remain at the St. Joseph County Jail on $5,000 bond.
