Northern Indiana Public Service Co. was called to the South Bend Toll Plaza, at mile marker 72, of the Indiana State Toll Road around 8 Wednesday night to investigate a possible gas leak.

According to Senior Indiana State Trooper Tim McCormick, NIPSCO did not find any evidence of a gas leak.

South Bend Ambulance was dispatched to the scene for a toll both attendant who complained of feeling ill because of the smell of gas. The attendant was not taken to the hospital.

South Bend Fire Department was also on the scene to investigate.

McCormick said the incident lasted about 30 to 45 minutes, and there were no lanes or toll booths closed.
