A South Bend home was destroyed following an overnight fire on the city’s west side, near Olive Street and Western Avenue.

The home, in the 2600 block of West Holland, was reported on fire about 1 a.m. Thursday.

Arriving crews found flames shooting from three sides of the home.

The house was a total loss, according to a WSBT photojournalist at the scene, with a garage and car damaged as well.

The family escaped the flames, and no one was injured. Family pets were rescued from the yard by fire personnel.

No details were given yet on the cause of the blaze, which remains under investigation.
