Arrest made in Goshen Meijer store shooting

GOSHEN — Police say they have made an arrest in connection with a shooting Tuesday night outside the Meijer store on Elkhart Road.

Hassan Mohamad Aljarah, 40, of Elkhart, faces an attempted murder charge following the shooting of Abdulhussain Alfartusi, according to the Goshen Police Dept.

Alfartusi was found with a gunshot wound in the back parking lot of the Meijer store about 5:30 p.m. He is listed in stable condition Thursday after being flown to an area hospital for treatment.

Aljarah was located in Elkhart and taken to the Elkhart County Sheriffs Correction Facility.

The case has been turned over to the Elkhart County Prosecutors Office for filing of formal charges.
