NEW CARLISLE ―The Indiana Department of Labor has issued a fine in the death of a man working with a wood chipper.

IOSHA released details of an investigation into Treecore of New Carlisle. A Plymouth man who worked for the company died while working on a wood chipper in Kosciusko County earlier this year.

IOSHA found several problems it says don't comply with state law, including not providing machine guards.

Treecore can appeal the findings, or make corrections. The fine for all the safety issues totals almost $75,000.

The Coroner's office said the death appeared to be an accident.
