Going 94 miles per hour in an I-65 construction zone caught an Indiana State Trooper’s attention Friday afternoon.

Police stopped the vehicle at the 230 mile marker (Demotte/Roselawn exit) for exceeding the posted 55 miles per hour speed limit.

The driver, an Illinois man, did not have a valid driver’s license and the vehicle was a rental car, but not rented to him, police said.

Another officer and his K-9 came to the traffic stop and quickly found three duffel bags in the car’s trunk.

Each duffel bag contained 10 one-pound sealed food bags of hydroponic marijuana. Police estimated the marijuana’s street value at $180,000.

The man was arrested and taken to Jasper County Jail.
