Driver cited for collision with train

NEW BUFFALO TOWNSHIP ― A Michigan driver will have to pay up after slamming into a train on Sunday.

Police say shortly after 10 a.m. he hit an Amtrak train on its way to Chicago. The collision happened at a crossing on Wilson Road, near Kulver Road.

The driver received minor injuries and was transported to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Michigan City. He was cited for not yielding and having a suspended license.
