A Knox man claimed a $500,000 prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis on Friday, lottery officials report in a news release. It was a top prize on the new Hoosier Lottery scratch-off game called $500,000 PayDay.

Tyler Sinnert told lottery officials that his reaction to scratching off a $500,000 jackpot was basically, "Holy $#!&."

Sinnert, who purchased his lucky ticket Thursday at Dairy Barn at 314 S. Monticello in Winamac, scratched it on his lunch break, lottery officials say. He managed to go back to work and finish the day without telling anybody about his win.

"It was tough," Sinnert told lottery officials. "Luckily, it was only two-and-a-half hours."

Sinnert works at Braun Corp. in Winamac. He plans to use his winnings to pay off his student loans and for investments.
