The parents of Army Sgt. Daniel A. Frazier, 23, of St. Joseph, Mich., learned Friday that he has been killed in Afghanistan.

A soldier from St. Joseph, Mich., has died while serving in Afghanistan.

Army Sgt. Daniel A. Frazier died in connection with a suicide bombing, according to his father, David Frazier of Niles.

Family members learned Friday night that Sgt. Frazier, a 2003 graduate of St. Joseph High School, had died.

Frazier's father told WSBT-TV that he came back Sunday from a dignified transfer ceremony held Saturday at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware, where his son's body was brought back to the United States.

Sgt. Frazier, 25, was married eight months ago and leaves behind a wife. The couple had no children.

Arrangements are still pending at Brown Funeral Home in Niles.
