(WSBT) Investigators uncovered no link between a man charged with kidnapping two boys in Missouri and the disappearance of Steven Kraft.

Kraft was 12 when he disappeared near his Benton Township home in 2001. He went outside to play with his two dogs and never returned.

The FBI was looking into whether his disappearance is connected to suspected kidnapper Michael Devlin.

Devlin, of Missouri, was arrested this year and charged with kidnapping Shawn Hornbeck in 2002, and Ben Ownby in January 2007.

FBI agents say Devlin's family has a cottage in Pentwater, Mich. and Devlin most likely would have had to drive through Berrien County to get there.

But investigators say a task force didn't reveal any information that could link him to Kraft's disappearance.

Kraft's case remains open. Anyone with information is asked to call Benton Township police at 269-926-8221, the FBI office in St. Joseph at 269-982-0390, or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-843-5678.
