MISHAWAKA — The Super Bowl is always one of the most-watched TV events. Still, people who don't really care for the game found plenty to do Sunday night.

With short lines and practically no crowds, it was a good time for people who don't care about the big football game to take advantage of shopping centers and grocery stores.

Some people even had their own non-Super Bowl parties, by going to see a movie and hitting the bowling lanes.

"You actually get up and play with your family instead of just sitting on your couch," Faythe Mishler said, as she and her family finished up a game at Mishawaka's Spares and Strikes.

Faythe, a fifth-grader at Marshall Intermediate Center, had something in common with nearly everyone else in the bowling alley: She didn't care about the Super Bowl.

"Well, I'm not much of a fan of football," Faythe said.

People who don't care about the game can be found enjoying the quiet night all around town. Justin Holland and Katie Husband went to a movie. Justin said he didn't watch the game because his team wasn't in it.

"If the Bears were in it I would be watching it," Holland said.

Some people also figured it was the perfect time to buy groceries. Alberto Velasco was at a Martin's Super Market during the game.

He said football was the last thing on his mind.

"I think there's a lot more things to worry about," Velasco said. "There's hunger, there's unemployment. I think that the focus, especially at this time of year, should be on the people in need, not on the people that have."
