Four patients flown to the hospital following a serious single-vehicle accident near Constantine, Mich., early Tuesday remain in emergency care hospital units.

Michigan State Police at the White Pigeon Post said the four were airlifted from the 7:15 a.m. crash on Stears Road, east of U.S. 131, and taken to Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.

Paige Hicks, 17, of White Pigeon, was driving the vehicle when she lost control in the snow and hit a tree, police said in a press release. She was transferred to the trauma unit and remains there, hospital staff said. The other three are all in the pediatric intensive care unit.

The hospital did not release information late Wednesday on the conditions of any of the four.

Three other minors injured in the accident were taken to Three Rivers for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the crash.
