Storage shed fires damage Elkhart mobile home

Heat from two storage shed fires damaged one mobile home early Sunday morning in Elkhart.

Firefighters were called to Monarch Mobile Home Park, 2312 Cassopolis St. about 1:30 a.m., where storage sheds between lots 22 and 23 were fully engulfed.

A City of Elkhart fire department report noted vandals apparently broke glass on a door on a mobile home on the other side of the storage sheds.

An investigation is under way into the fires which began on the floor, inside one shed and then spread to the second. No injuries were reported. Damages are estimated at $3,000.
