Man Found Guilty in Beating Death of Toddler

By Beth Boehne

(WSBT) A jury found the man accused in the death of a 15-month-old girl guilty of battery Thursday.

Kwasi Barnes, 29, faces a minimum 20-year sentence. That's the legal requirement for the death of a child under the age of 14.

Barnes was babysitting DeNeja Coleman in 2005 when she died. Doctors say she suffered a blow to the head.

The judge will sentence Barnes September 11.
