Crews Work Fast to Clean Up Storm Damage in New Carlisle

(WSBT) Crews from INDOT New Carlisle, Plymouth and Mishawaka continued the work they started Thursday night. They cut, chopped, and cleared uprooted trees and branches that had pulled down power lines and blocked streets.

The damage appears to be minimal but that's because crews have been working fast.

Some downed trees still cover yards but people say that's nothing.

"It knocked a lot of trees down around here, the winds were really strong, I have a gazebo that's supposed to be able to take 100 mph winds but it had it laying on the ground," witness Leo Zarobinski said.

Crews are still clearing some of the larger trees that were uprooted. They hope to have this all done by Friday afternoon.
