Roseland Police Will Continue to Serve and Protect ... for Now

(WSBT) Roseland police officers will stay on the job for at least another month.

The five-officer department met this week to consider filing for unemployment.

That meeting follows the town council's decision to cut officers' pay to $6 because of budget shortfalls.

Town Marshall Jack Tiller says the department decided to continue working at the reduced rate because they "can't in good conscience leave the town without police protection right now."

Officers will meet again at the end of the month.
