Plymouth Schools Pass 2008 Budget

(SBT24/7News) The Plymouth school board passed the advertised 2008 budget during its meeting Thursday night at Washington Elementary School.

The passage came following a public hearing Sept. 6.

The advertised 2008 total budget is $32,168,107, an increase of 4.71 percent.

The levy of 1.7532 percent is down from 2007’s 1.7724 percent, and could fall further because no property tax replacement money was figured into the budget, John Hill, Plymouth superintendent, said earlier this month.

The board also passed the corporation’s capital projects budget for 2008, advertised at $4,238,591, and its 2008 bus replacement plan, which sees five new buses to be purchased next year, followed by four each through
