Police: Several briefly held during home invasion
DETROIT (AP) — Detroit police say several people were briefly taken hostage during a home invasion on the city's southwest side that led to an hours-long standoff with one suspect.
Police say several men burst into the home early Thursday, taking a man, a woman and one or two children hostage.
The hostages either escaped or were allowed to leave. The man, who police say was struck during the attack, was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Police say two people were initially taken into custody. WWJ-AM reports the standoff ended later Thursday morning after police say a third person was taken into custody.
