BENTON HARBOR -

In 20 days, Benton Harbor will become the center of the golf world, when the Golf Club at Harbor Shores hosts the 75th Senior PGA Championship.

Less than three weeks until the tournament tees-off, the field is shaping up to be one of the most elite fields ever assembled in senior golf. Currently 127 players have entered. The field will be finalized next week with 156 players.

The list includes 11 former champions, twenty players who won majors on the PGA Tour, and seven former Ryder Cup captains (including current captain Tom Watson).

"We've got a fresh new crop of players", says championship director Jeff Hintz of the PGA. "Even though they are fifty years plus, they are considered rookies. (Hall of famer) Colin Montgomerie. Stephen Ames (8 professional wins) is a new face. We really want the players to experience the players up close and personal, and that's what they can do here."

The tournament begins on May 22nd. Tickets can be purchased at https://ems.pgalinks.com/ticketing/index.cfm?sale_id=211 . Kids get in free with a paid adult ticket.
