A convicted killer who escaped from a Grand Rapids-area prison on Super Bowl Sunday is scheduled to appear before a judge this morning.
This won't be Michael Elliot's first court appearance.
A judge entered a not-guilty plea on Elliot's behalf last month.
Police captured him near Rolling Prairie one day after escaping the Ionia Correctional Facility.
Investigators say the 40-year-old slipped under gates and made holes in fences before carjacking a woman in Ionia.
That woman made her escape at a Middlebury gas station.
Elliot is serving life without parole for first-degree murder in the shooting of four people during a 1993 robbery.
