Indiana Gov. Mike Pence helped cut the ribbon for the new headquarters of Drew Industries in Elkhart on Wednesday.

Earlier this year, the RV company announced plans to move its headquarters from White Plains, New York to Elkhart.

Drew also plans to expand its manufacturing plants in Elkhart and Goshen, creating as many as 800 new jobs by 2017.

"We had offices in Goshen, Elkhart, Middlebury and New York, and we just felt that Elkhart was the best place," said Drew CEO Jason Lippert.

"Today's ribbon cutting is important, because we're celebrating jobs in the Hoosier state and an industry coming back and a company coming back," noted Pence. "But the decision for Drew Industries to locate their national headquarters here, I think, will have positive implications for jobs and opportunities for Hoosiers for generations to come."

The company owns Lippert Components and Kinro and has about 4,200 employees in Elkhart County.
