MISHAWAKA -

Officials from Indiana Gov. Mike Pence's administration were in Mishawaka on Thursday to detail the expansion of the Healthy Indiana plan.

Last week, Pence announced expanding the current Healthy Indiana plan, and on Thursday, a conversation about the future of healthcare in Indiana was held.

Indiana State Health Commissioner Dr. William VanNess says the plan takes into account more than just treating injuries and illnesses.

"What I like about this plan is that it does promote wellness and prevention. There is a financial incentive to do your prevention services and studies."

The expansion of the plan will cover about 350,000 more Hoosiers.
