Right now former Indiana Senator Richard Lugar is in Washington, DC being honored.

He is among 15 people today receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor.

The White House says Lugar was chosen to honor his 30 years in the Senate which featured bipartisan solutions to the country's biggest problems, and his decades-long work to cut down on nuclear weapons in the former Soviet Union.

Among the others being honored today are Mr. Cub, Ernie Banks.
