The Notre Dame men's basketball team cruised to an easy 93-44 exhibition victory over Tusculum College Friday night at the Joyce Center.
Five Irish players scored in double figures, led by senior point guard Eric Atkins' 21 points. Junior Pat Connaughton tallied 14 points and 8 rebounds, while senior guard Garrick Sherman scored 12 points and pulled down a game-high 13 boards. Freshman guard Demetrius Jackson, a Mishawaka Marian product, finished with 10 points on the night.
Notre Dame was hot from the floor, connecting on 34-of-63 shots from the floor (54%) while holding the visiting Pioneers to just 16-of-67 (24%).
Next Friday, November 8, the Irish will play for real when they host Miami of Ohio inside Purcell Pavilion, with the game time set for 7 p.m.
