MISHAWAKA -

A Mishawaka firefighter is now on unpaid leave after his arrest last month.
Eric Hazen had been on paid leave.

The Mishawaka Board of Public Safety made that move on Tuesday.

Hazen is charged with endangerment and neglect of a dependent, threatening a police officer and resisting arrest.

Investigators say his ex-wife called police, claiming Hazen was drunk and wouldn't let her pick up their 6-year-old son from his Osceola home.

A police report said he could barely stand and lunged at officers, so they used a taser on him.

Hazen is a 13-year veteran of the Mishawaka Fire Department.
