It was another day of vigils in Indianapolis to remember the Indianapolis officer killed in the line of duty Friday.
Officer Rod Bradway was a Nappanee native. He graduated from Northwood high school.
On Saturday a group held a prayer vigil at the apartment complex where Bradway was killed trying to help a woman and child being held at gunpoint.
“Think about that baby,” said IMPD Chief Rick Hite. “That child has an
opportunity. About a split second. Child's life was hanging in the balance. If
it wasn't for the wise, brave man who kicked in that door. God only knows what
would have happened. But god knew. He sent an angel. He sent a man in blue to
rescue a child in need. To rescue a mother.”
Funeral services for Bradway will be held Thursday in Indianapolis at Banker's Life Fieldhouse.
