Motorcyclists and military supporters were out in full force for the first ever "Jesse's Warrior Mission Ride" Saturday.
The 50-mile motorcycle ride began in Elkhart in honor of Staff Sergeant Jesse Williams, an Elkhart native, who was killed in action in a military helicopter crash in Afghanistan last December.
Organizers say the proceeds will help other military members struggling to get by to get the goods they need, such as hygiene products or care packages.
"It is designed to help active service men and their families and veterans that are coming off of active duty that don't have maybe the means to get home to their families or anything," Kari Freyenberger tells WSBT.
The ride was organized by Jesse's Warriors, Inc. - a group founded by Jesse's aunt.
