KALAMAZOO, Mich. -

The parents of a missing southwest Michigan medical student are wondering if a cellphone call may hold the key to their daughter's disappearance.

Teleka Patrick was last seen two weeks ago in Portage, Ind. after leaving her job in Kalamazoo.

The 30-year-old is a medical student at Borgess Medical Center and left after work.

The "Kalamazoo Gazette" reports Patrick got a phone call while attending a lecture, and at least one person says her demeanor changed after that call.

Police found her car in a ditch along I-94 in Portage.

A man who works at a hotel along the interstate says he thinks he talked to her the day she disappeared.

She asked for directions to Gary, Ind.

"I didn't see anything wrong with her behavior," said Eli Soto, a custodian at Comfort Inn. "When he showed me the sketch, what caught my attention was her hair was straight, and that was the way she, I mean it looks very similar."

There is now a reward for information about Patrick's disappearance.

Patrick also has family in Illinois, about 30 miles from where her car was found, but they have not heard from her, either.
