A missing 82-year-old rural LaPorte County man diagnosed with dementia was found late Thursday night after being missing for several hours.
Major John Boyd says Robert Kindig had last been seen around 5:45 p.m. CST Thursday.
Boyd says Kindig left his Schultz Road home in rural LaPorte County in his pickup truck to go to his weekly bowling league at Casey's Lanes in LaPorte.
Around 7:20 p.m. CST, his family told police Kindig never arrived at the bowling alley.
Kindig was considered missing and endangered, and a statewide Silver Alert was issued to help police and family members find the man.
LaPorte County police say around 10 p.m. CST, Indiana State Police and Porter County Sheriff's deputies found Kindig at a gas station along US 20 near Waverly Road in eastern Porter County.
He was a bit disoriented but unharmed.
