This morning St. Joseph County Police are still searching for the suspect of an apparent home invasion.

It happened in the 54100 block of Ivy Road in Clay Township.

Police say the older couple that lived there called 911 just before 8:30 Friday night to report someone had kicked in their door, showed a handgun and demanded money. 

The couple did what they were asked and then the person took off.

The suspect is described as a thin white man, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing all black clothing.

They ask you to call them if you have any information.

The St. Joseph County Police Department is investigating an apparent home invasion that occurred in the 54100 block of Ivy Rd. in Clay Township.

The elderly couple that lives at the residence called 911 just before 8:30 p.m. to report that someone had kicked in their door, displayed a handgun and demanded money.  The couple complied with the suspect's demands by giving him what money they had on hand. The suspect then fled the residence.  It is believed that the suspect may have fled on a bicycle that he had possibly staged in the area prior to committing the crime.

The suspect is described as a thin male white, approx. 6 feet tall, wearing all black clothing and apparently hid his face with some type of covering.  Police are asking that anyone that might have any information regarding this incident, contact the St. Joseph County Police Department at 235-9611.
