MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -

The LaPorte County Sheriff's Department is asking the public's help in identifying a suspect who they say was involved in a robbery Sunday at The Dunes Inn just outside of Michigan City.

Police say a white female entered the lobby of the inn, located on North Frontage Road, around 11:30 (CST) yesterday. The woman asked about renting a room and then left.

She then returned a few minutes later and handed the clerk a note that demanded money, according to police.

The clerk gave the suspect an "undisclosed amount of money."

Investigators say the suspect was then seen leaving in a tan or light colored Honda that was driven by another person.

The suspect is described as a tall white female and was wearing glasses. She was also wearing a bright red winter coat with a fur lined hood that was pulled up over her head.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to contact the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office at 219-879-3530 or 219-326-7700.
