Police in Elkhart used stop sticks and a K9 tonight during their pursuit of a 15-year-old runaway in a stolen car. They say he has yet to be caught.

Here's the full release from the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department:

"At approximately 5:28pm, officers were attempting to locate a 15 year old male who was reported as a runaway. They spotted him in a silver Chevy Impala and attempted to stop the vehicle in the area of CR 18 and CR 1. The vehicle fled headed westbound on CR 18. Officers were able to deploy stop sticks, and the vehicle continued westbound on CR 18. At CR 1, the Impala struck a southbound vehicle (driver complained of minor complaints of pain and refused medical treatment) and continued to flee headed southbound onto CR 1. The vehicle entered into a cornfield on CR 1 south of CR 22 and the 15 year old male fled on foot. Officers set up a perimeter and deployed a K9; however, the runaway was not located and is still at large. Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.

"Note: The vehicle that fled from officers was reported stolen through the Elkhart City Police Department."
