GOSHEN -

Senior Landon Booker rose to the occasion Friday night scoring 26 points as the No. 9 Bethel College Pilots came from behind to defeat No. 19 Madonna University 94-90 in the Maple City Hoopsfest hosted by Goshen College.

Bethel trailed by as many as 13 in the second stanza only to come back and take the lead on a bucket from Mishawaka product Ryan Benner to lead 89-88.

After a Crusader basket the ball would go back to Booker as the Adams High standout was fouled and sank two free throws with 0:19 seconds remaining to reclaim the lead (91-90).

Bethel would get a huge steal on their next defensive possession and would close out the game from the line to claim the 94-90 victory.

Ryan Benner would provide 24 points shooting 9-15 from the field and 4-6 from downtown.

Matt Schauss would add 13 points, six assists and four rebounds. Zach Miller would also contribute 11 points while Michael Mislan came off the bench to pitch in nine points and four rebounds.

Bethel (2-0) will quickly return to action facing (RV) Lourdes University on Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
