If you love strawberries and didn't make it to the Shortcake on the Blacktop on Friday in South Bend, you missed out.
The 22nd annual event was held at the Episcopal Cathedral of St. James.
The proceeds of the fundraiser go to St. Margaret's House, Stone Soup Community, and A Rosie Place.
The charities said the annual event is a big help during the summer months.
"We are so grateful," said St. Margaret's House Director Kathy Schneider. "Our census goes up by 20, 30, 40 people a day because all the kids are out of school, and they come have a good meal and take part in our children's program. So, any proceeds made from this is really gonna help us and help the kids this summer."
Last year, the event was able to give $3,000 to the three charities, and organizers hope with Friday's weather, that number will be even higher this year.
