SAMSUN, Turkey -- A dramatic rescue at sea turned into a bit of an embarrassment after rescuers retrieved an inflatable sex doll thought to be a drowning woman.
Police were initially called by panicked residents who reported seeing a woman's body floating offshore, Milliyet newspaper reported on Sunday.
A team of divers were sent into the water to rescue what appeared to be a drowning woman, according to the paper.
But once on scene, the team quickly discovered the damsel in distress was in fact a blow-up doll.
The doll was promptly deflated and disposed of in the garbage.
