ORLANDO, Fla. -- A couple having sex on an outside patio table caught the attention of diners and police this week at Paddy Murphy's Irish Pub and Restaurant, according to Orlando police.
When a manager told them to stop, the man answered, "She can't get up at this moment," an arrest report states.
All of this allegedly happened Monday night in view of a family with young children, though the manager later told the Orlando Sentinel he doesn't know if they were having sex.
"Compose yourself," the manager, Tom Murphy, told the patrons. "Pay your tab or I'll call police."
That's when Jeremie Calo of Winter Park is accused of signing his tab, "NO," the arrest report states.
Details about the couple's $101 bill included three shots each of Patron tequila. Paddy Murphy's is known for its Irish fare, including a bangers and mash entree for $8.99.
When the Murphy went inside to call 911, he later told police that he saw Calo and date Tiffany Barganier leaving the restaurant with two glasses and without paying, the report states.
"Murphy and employee John Mulvey confronted Calo outside of the business and told him to sit down and wait," the report states. "Calo stated, "(expletive)" and pushed Murphy in an attempt to leave the area."
In an interview, Murphy said he thinks what happened was blown out of proportion.
When a server complained of the couple's amorous behavior, Murphy said he went outside and thought they were just making out at first.
"At no time were they having sex on a table in front of kids. It was inappropriate but I don't know if they were having sex or not," Murphy said. "This is a family restaurant and we never have problems here."
When the couple tried to leave, the barmen held down Calo to prevent him from fleeing until police arrived, the report states.
Murphy declined to prosecute for being shoved but told police he wanted Calo arrested for not paying.
Calo and Barganier, both 32, were issued trespass warnings and told not to return to Paddy Murphy's for one year, the report states.
Police charged Calo with resisting a merchant and defrauding an innkeeper for less than $300.
He was booked into the Orange County Jail and later released on $600 bail. Calo not be reached immediately for comment.
